Woodburn School district offers AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) in grades 7-12. AVID is a national program that supports students in preparing for and succeeding in rigorous courses from middle school to college. Twice a week, AVID students participate in a 10-step Tutorial process to address points of confusion from their content classes to come to a more complete understanding of their learning. Tutors do not solve the points of confusion but instead facilitate a process to help students come to an understanding on their own.

Special Considerations:  Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Russian preferred.  AVID tutors are needed at both middle schools and the high school.  Tutors will work for 2-5 hours/day a total of 10-15 hours/week.  Work Schedule will be determined upon hire.

Essential Functions:

Training: AVID Tutors will receive a 1-day paid training on the Tutorology process before facilitating groups with students and will have other opportunities for on-going training.
